…but don’t you hate it when you forget something you were just about to say or ask one minute ago?

It is probably one of the most irritating and teeth-grinding things you could do.

Let’s say you want to go ask your teacher what we are having for lunch, but you also know that you can’t get up to do that right now because your teacher is in the middle of a lesson.

The lesson is over in a minute but you have forgotten what you were about to ask your teacher all in the span of sixty seconds!

I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.

Research has shown that the human mind has two main memory systems: a short-term memory – or “that thought you just had a minute ago” – that holds thoughts that we are currently thinking about; and a long-term memory that holds many memories throughout your lifetime.

Let’s say you were about to tell your friends a really funny story that happened over Thanksgiving Break, but you can’t because they are in your next class period.

You finally get to the next class, and you are literally sitting there in awe because you’ve forgotten what in the world you going to tell your friend.

I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.

How about when you have to turn in that paper for your next class? You were just complaining about how miserable it made your life last night for a good 30 minutes. The period’s now over and you go to your locker.

You grab everything in your locker for that class including gum you just got from some girl last period, but you forgot the homework.

I don’t know, maybe that’s just me.
